4thQ – 2017
In the second half of 2017 the Founders of Channing Capital Management, LLC (Channing) entered into a transaction whereby Mr. Rodney Herenton (Rodney) and Mr. Wendell Mackey (Wendell) purchased the equity stake of Mr. Eric McKissack (Eric) toward his retirement from Channing.
Upon commencement of the transaction, Rodney became Co-Chief Executive Officer and Chief Business Strategy Officer for Channing. And Wendell became Co-Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer for the firm.
Eric served as CEO Emeritus for the firm for over 2 years until his full retirement from Channing on December 31, 2019 where a smooth transition was realized for the interests of clients, and the leadership team.
Since the transaction was undertaken, Channing has been able to realize some of the vision Rodney and Wendell have for the firm including: expanding ownership of Channing to key professionals at the firm; expanding the product offerings of the firm for growth and balance of the firm; broadening the distribution channels of the firm’s products to meet client needs.
Rodney and Wendell would like to thank Eric for his valued contributions to the firm over his tenure at Channing. As Eric, Rodney, and Wendell would always say to each other when reaching milestones or enduring tough times, “ONWARD AND UPWARD!”
